Wet Paint

Fall 2017

Project Description

Wet Paint is a collaborative project between myself and illustrator Noah Lentz.  My photographs were combined with Noah's illustrations and paintings to create new pieces of art.  The goal was to bring together two separate mediums and combine digital and tradition workflows to manipulate photographs outside of the world of Photoshop.

Process

Each piece started out by printing a photograph on printer paper to sketch different ideas for illustrations.  Once an idea was decided upon, the photograph was then printed on high quality photo paper.  Using paint pens and other similar tools, the final illustration was then completed on the high quality print of the photograph.  Then, the print with the illustration was then scanned into a computer for safekeeping and to correct small sections of the illustrations.
